Overview:
Compile subcontract management specifications and work statements through coordination with multiple sites to develop and implement long-term procurement strategies related to metallic structures, assemblies & bond structures, or non-metallic / metallic raw material. Will integrate functional support efforts to assure terms and conditions required for specific procurement strategies in support of site, multiple site and program requirements are achieved to meet assigned organizational objectives. Ability to support efforts in subcontractor selections and in relationship building with key strategic suppliers. Perform efforts to document long-term awards and administer on-going analysis to support supplier strategy within assigned commodity. Create subcontract specifications, work statements, and terms & conditions for the procurement of assigned commodity / production structural categories. Prepare bid packages, analyzes and evaluates proposals, support efforts to negotiate subcontract provisions, works with sites to write awards, and administers resulting long-term agreements (LTA) subcontracts. Will be responsible to thoroughly all elements (raw material, processing, etc.) that impact the price of assigned commodities. Lead interface with sites and programs to integrate the negotiation and coordination of additions, deletions, or modifications to LTA subcontracts. Participate in integrated project team with technical, schedule, quality, etc. as required to achieve overall commodity strategy. Requires knowledge of procurement processes and systems.
Responsibilities:
Apply knowledge of aerospace industry supply chain and manufacturing process methods to implement supply chain strategies resulting in annualized cost reduction. Determine level of procurement and sourcing strategies for assigned commodities. Work with peers to determine BOM, schedules, lead time and piece count for assigned commodities. Aggregate demand and build a supply sourcing map for assigned commodities. Develop supplier profiles, constraints, and strategic sourcing plans. Prepare and release RFQ, perform selection, business case, negotiation and contract execution with targeted suppliers. Lead work transfers through first article completion. Work with internal customers and external suppliers to identify and implement continuous improvement in supply chain strategies. Requires strong project management, analytical data mining abilities, negotiation and contract management skills.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will typically have a BA/BS degree or equivalent and 8-10 years of related experience. Knowledge of machine part, sheet metal and structural assembly manufacturers (suppliers) and manufacturing processes is required. Must be a self starter and have ability to use Insight, Microsoft Suite, and experience in supporting development and implementation of supplier strategy. Must also have ability with willingness to thoroughly document long-term agreements. Must be able to support required business travel.
