Starting Young Horses
Horse Training for Barrel Racing and/or Pole Bending.
Personal, private instruction for basic horsemanship, as well as arena disciplines specializing in, beginner to competitor, barrel racing and pole bending.
• Utilizing a life-time of horse experience.
• Observe and oversee the temperament and physical condition of the horses in training.
• Oversee and modify feed and supplement programs tailored for the demands of a performance horse.
• Rehabilitating “problem” arena horses and retraining horses to break bad habits.
• Keep records documenting horse health, diet and behavior.
• Instruct riders in handling specific horses during competition.
• Conduct training programs in order to develop and maintain desired horse behaviors for competition.
• Evaluate horses in order to determine their temperaments, abilities, and aptitude for training.
• Feed and exercise horses, and provide other general care such as cleaning and maintaining holding and performance areas.
• Observe horses’ physical conditions in order to detect illness or unhealthy conditions requiring medical care.
• Administer prescribed medications to horses.
• Marketing performance horses.
• Demonstrating performance horses in their perspective event to showcase a horse for marketing purposes.
Rates:
Starting Young Horses (per horse) at my place:
$550 / month for 30 days, includes boarding and hay, you supply grain, horses rode 5 days a week;
or
$750 / 30 RIDES, includes boarding and hay, you supply grain.
or
$30/day - you pick how many, includes boarding and hay, you supply grain.
Starting Young Horses (per horse) at your place: (mileage/driving time included within 25-mile radius; you provide hay and feed; if further than 25-mile radius, then either multiple horses required or additional mileage/driving fee applies).
$550 / month for 30 days, horses rode 5 days a week;
or
$750 / 30 RIDES.

Training for Barrels and/or Pole Bending: $750/month. Hauling, exhibitions and entry fees are not included and will be billed to client only if previously agreed upon or requested.
Instruction/Lessons $30/hour at my place / $40/hour at an outside location, 2-hour minimum within 30 mile radius; 3-hour minimum for 30- to 60-mile radius.
Additional Skills:
Horses – Talented performance horse trainer with strong background in starting horses, with success training horses for arena disciplines to include barrel racing, roping and pole bending.
Ranch – Calving, doctoring, personnel management, roping, welding, CDL, building and maintenance, hunting guide, caretaker, fencing, marketing livestock, managing pasture grounds.
Farm – Experienced in tractors and all equipment operating, farm ground management (Hay and grains), irrigation, and irrigation systems. Attention to detail.
